Question about braces?

They put my two front braces are very near the bottom of my teeth and it looks horrible;makes me look like i have buck teeth. i am looking online at braces and everyone's front two braces are in the middle of their teeth. They are also causing my two front teeth to go diagonally inward. causing like a "v" shape. are they supposed to be like this and can i get them fixed?
