Girls- Do nice guys really finish last, or is it boring guys that finish last?

I will put it out there that I would consider myself a nice guy, But in the sense that I not going to cheat, cause drama, and show plain respect to a girl, but I don't see why that would stop a girl from dating me. What I hear girls say about the bad boy is that they are adventurous, spontaneous, and fun. While the nice guy is shy, boring, or a mommas boy. So is it really a guy being nice that turns you off, or his traits of, well, being boring.
