Getting Big Buck Teeth Fixed With Braces?

Well I have rabbit teeth as people call it, not freakishly huge but yeah. Im getting braces in a few months. I have a gap between the teeth and then the come together at the tip.Should I get my front buck teeth shaved down to a normal size before I get braces, or would braces help a bit(I have an overbite on the front teeth also)
